In 2001 Max and Trudi Roth were awarded the Doron Prize.
After their first journey to Greece in 1954 when Max and Trudi Roth felt they had really seen poverty, the desperation lead them to help the poor and needy. What at first was providing the people with bare necessities (money and clothes) later became a vision. They thought of educating the young people, providing them with scholarships in the areas of teaching, nursing, law, enabling some to do their A-Levels or pursuing a university degree in another field. Up to date 200 young people have been awarded scholarships.
This is one example of the many projects which have been supported in the area of education by The Swiss Foundation for the Doron Prize.
