In 2002, GP Walter Munz was awarded the Doron Prize. Munz was the follower of GP Albert Schweitzer and worked as doctor in the rainforest hospital of Lambarene (Gabun). In his last working year, Munz was responsible for a small hostel for aids patients and drug addicts in Zurich. Walter Munz dedicates his whole life to the benefits of other people.
This is one example of the many projects which have been supported in the area of social welfare by The Swiss Foundation for the Doron Prize.
